8 months

I wrote this post a long time ago and got so distracted I never actually posted it!

It's hard to believe that another month has just flown by.  Abby has been learning all kinds of new tricks and we've been having so much fun together.   Here are some highlights from this month:

• Has transitioned into taking two naps during the day and generally at least one of them is longer than an hour.  But I'm experimenting with the idea of switching to one since she fights me at two but sleeps great during one.
• Goes to bed between 6:30 - 7:00 pm and usually only wakes up once to nurse around 12:00 or 1:00 am and then we are up for the day between 5:30 and 6:30 am.  I like getting up early because I am able to exercise and shower before the little girl I watch comes over.
• Eats three meals a day and we've started adding meat and whole milk yogurt to her diet.  I'm still making my own baby food but sometimes I get jars of the baby food with meat because I don't always have it to mix with the veggies.  Often though I just puree what we're eating and give it to her.
• Had her first bad cold and ear infection.  Her friend Paige who I watch got pretty sick and since they play together and share toys Abby got sick too.  She was congested and had a bad runny nose for about 10 days.  About halfway through I thought that she was getting better but then she got worse the next day.  She was really fussy at nap time, only slept for about 30 min and then woke up crying.  After fussing for over an hour I finally pulled on her ear to see if it was bothering her and she started screaming.  Poor little girl!  That was not a fun doctor's visit for her.
• She has 8 teeth, four on top and four on the bottom and she loves to show them off an use them.  Boy are they sharp!
• She is learning how to wave and waved to a lady at the grocery store yesterday and to the people sitting behind us in stake conference last night.  It was so cute!
• She is starting to experiment with crawling.  We'll put her on her hands and knees and she'll rock but then goes back to her belly.  She will then push herself up into a plank or push-up position on her hands and toes.  It's SO funny!  She can get one knee under herself but slides backwards still.
• She has turned into a little chatter box and boy is she loud!  She babbles all day long and does this high pitched squeal that is hilarious.
• She loves people and whenever we're out and someone passes us her arms and legs go crazy and she opens and closes her hands really fast.  She is very social.
• She LOVES to play with her toys.  I can set her in front of her box of toys and she'll play for 30 to 45 min by herself.
• She rode in the grocery cart like a big girl for the first time yesterday.
