7 Months & Growing

Hey everybody this is Abigail! I decided that since I'm getting so big that it was my turn to do a post on this blog. My friend Hazel's mommy Becky let's her do it all the time so I told my mommy I wanted to give it a try.

Well...I am 7 months old now. Can you believe it? It seems like just yesterday that I met my mommy and daddy. I have learned how to do so many new things this past month. I don't have to go to the doctor again until I'm 9 months old because he said that I am healthy and strong. Good thing too...I don't like getting those nasty shots. They hurt! But my mommy says that they will keep me healthy so I am usually brave and don't cry too long. Since I'm not going to the doctor I can't tell you all my fabulous stats like height and weight but I can tell I'm growing because my 6 month clothes are not so baggy anymore and my shoes are starting to get a little tight. I think that it is all that yummy food that my mommy has been feeding me. Every week she lets me try something new and now she is starting to mix things together and that is really yummy! My newest foods are yellow zucchini, oatmeal and butternut squash. I get really excited when it's time to eat and I let them know nice and loud when I'm hungry.

I'm learning to sleep really well too! I go to bed about 6:30 pm after dinner and a bath (I LOVE baths!) and usually sleep until about 12:30 - 1:30 am. I wake up and drink some milk and then I go to sleep again until 6:30 am. That's when mommy and I start our day. We sing songs, go for walks, run errands and go to the park.

I am getting really good at sitting up by myself now and only fall over every once in a while. I LOVE playing with my toys and can play by myself for up to an hour sometimes. Oh I also discovered that I can make my voice get really loud if I open my mouth really wide. I have kind of a big mouth so I can make big sounds. Some of them you will hear if you watch my videos. I'm also starting to notice that my mommy and daddy do funny things like stick out their tongues, cough, laugh, smile and sing. I like it and I try to do it too. They also make weird signs with their hands whenever I want something. I'm not sure why they do that but sometimes I get upset. Maybe when I get a little bigger I'll understand.

Speaking of bigger, I'm big enough now that mommy and daddy don't wrap me up tight like a burrito when I sleep anymore. I used to like it because it kept me nice and warm. But now that I am big I like to roll around in my crib to get comfy. I usually like to sleep on my side or my back and that's kind of hard when you are wrapped so tightly. I've also been taking longer naps since I have been playing so much. I usually take two now but sometimes if they are short I take three. I'm also starting to learn to fall asleep on my own. Sometimes I get lonely or sad when mommy and daddy put me in my crib but after I play for a bit I usually get comfortable and fall asleep on my own. But I still like my daddy to rock me in the rocking chair or my mommy to rub my back while I lay in the crib so they still do that sometimes.

Ok I guess I better stop writing now because this is really long! I hope that you enjoy all of my pictures and videos. Have a great day!

This is my pretty yellow dress when I wore it for the first time

My great grandma Barlow gave me this cute bunny that plays music

I really like it a lot

Mommy said that I'm big enough to try feeding myself sometimes. It's fun...

...but it's really messy too. Hehe!

I really like drinking from my mom's cup. Here she is trying to help me drink.

I decided to help her because it looked fun

Then I remembered that I am big and decided I wanted to try all by myself

the only problem is the cup was heavy and I couldn't figure out how to get the water in my mouth

Sometimes my mommy lets me have a bottle at night if she doesn't have a lot of milk. Look how big I am feeding myself. I have to be careful though because sometimes I poke myself in the eye with it and that makes me sad.

Here's me watching my favorite video about reading. I am so big that sometimes I don't like to lay down in my seat I like to sit up.

I was trying out a new headband this day...I'm not sure what I think though. I kind of look like a basketball player wearing a sweat band. It's cool though...I'm cute it enough to work it I think.

Oh this one is funny...my mom put me in my exasaucer to play with my toys but then she put the reading video on for my friend Paige and I wanted to watch too. My chair spins but I can't always get it to do it so I just decided to lean way back to watch one of the fun songs that came on.

Just hanging out with my dad. Oh and working on my cute face pose for the camera.

Haha...check out this one. My dad tried to give me dreadlock, wings. What a funny guy.

On Saturday my mom was making me some more baby food but I wanted her to hold me because my teeth were hurting. But since she was busy she sat me in my chair and gave me some frozen cantaloupe to suck on in this cool mesh bag. It was SO good and made my teeth feel a lot better.

Mmmm...I guess you could call it a baby popcicle

Here I am after my bath last night. I love baths because I love to splash and kick. And I love getting clean after getting messy at dinner.

this is how I stay warm after I get out until mom puts my pjs on.

Well that's all I have for now. I hope you enjoyed all the fun pictures. Until next time!

P.S. I don't actually turn 7 months until Thursday but my days can be pretty busy so I figured I better get this posted while I had the chance.

You may think I'm crazy...but in some of these pictures, this little stinker looks SO much like Aunt Kathy did as a baby!
