So remember that crib we bought for $35 last weekend? Well thanks to my cousin Alicia who commented on my post we found out that the crib has been recalled for over a year and a half. Nice! Apparently the slats aren't as strong as they thought and they've had several instances of them breaking and children getting stuck in them.
So what's the good news you ask? The good news is that the company is still offering a voucher for a brand new crib! After talking about it last night we felt like the right thing to do was to contact the original owners of the crib and let them know in case they wanted to take advantage of the offer for a crib either for themselves or for a family member. We received an email this morning from them indicating that they are done having children and they would be more than happy to allow us to take advantage of this opportunity. I couldn't be more excited! According to the website all we have to do is mail in some of the hardware from the crib with photos of the company labels. They pay for postage and no proof of purchase is required. In return we are supposed to get a voucher to purchase a new crib at Babies R Us. So basically we're going to get a $200 - $300 crib for $35! Now that's a deal I can live with for sure. Hopefully it will work out!
