Hello everyone! I decided that I better post something on our blog so that no one will think that we disappeared or that I died from my softball head injury. The bruising continued to become darker and darker which made for a good topic of conversation but I survived to play again.
We haven't been doing anything too exciting lately except filing our taxes the night before the due date and giving all our money to Uncle Sam. So fun! It could have been much worse though had Mom Packard not done such an amazing job itemizing every little thing for us. She's the best! Other than that the only thing new is that Bud started to work for my cousin Elisia and her husband Kim this week. They own a custom cabinet business and asked him if he'd like to learn how to do installs. They told him if he liked it they could work around his other work schedule so that he can have a little more work during the week. He of course jumped at the chance and went to shadow one of their guys yesterday. They tore out two old kitchen's in an apartment complex and will be installing the new cabinets on Friday. He said that he likes it so far and is anxious to learn more about the installation process. We sure love Kim and Elisia and are so grateful for this opportunity and the support that they've been to us. I'm so lucky to have such awesome cousins that live down her in AZ. They invite to every family activity and really make us feel like part of the gang since our families live in CA and UT. Love you guys!
Yesterday I had jury duty...sadly work has been SO slow lately I was actually excited to go. I was in the first group called up for a case and it was actually pretty interesting. We went into the courtroom met the judge and her staff as well as the prosecutor and the defendant. She asked us a lot of questions and then those of us who did not have a convincing reason to be excused went into another room to fill out a 50 page questionnaire regarding our eligibility to serve on the case. It was pretty intense! They will review all of our information the rest of this week and call us on Monday to let us know if we've been dismissed or if we have been called to serve as a member of the jury. I'm kind of nervous actually. If I'm called to serve the trial will last almost eight weeks! It could be kind of interesting to see how the court system works but the only thing is that the trial starts on Monday, May 4th which is the day we're supposed to be getting home from CA. Bummer! Hopefully things will work out and I won't have to serve but we'll see.
OK...I guess that's it. An update on the AZ Packard family. Hope you are all doing well and I will post some pictures soon!
