Happy 6 months Abby!

Things have been a little crazy lately so it's taken me a while to get this post up. I've actually had the pictures loaded for about 2 weeks but haven't had time to write anything. I can't believe that my baby is 6 months already! Here are some of her stats:

  • 14.5 lbs (25%- only gained 1 lb in 2 months), 26 inches long (50%), head 16 1/4 cm (25%).
  • Is wearing 6 month clothes although some of the pants are still big in the waist. She can still wear most of her 3 month onsies but just this last week I noticed that they are starting to get a little small.
  • She now has 5 teeth and the 6th one is currently coming through.
  • Those teeth are VERY sharp and she has bit my arm and shoulder a few times which was not too fun. Little stinker!
  • Still takes about three 40 min naps a day but every once in a while she sleep longer than an hour in the late afternoon.
  • Started sitting up unassisted at about 5 1/2 months. She is still a little wobbly and has face planted a few times when reaching for toys but she is getting better every day.
  • Stays on her tummy longer now while playing with toys.
  • Can roll front to back and back to front without too much effort.
  • Can scoot a little bit on her tummy but mostly likes to rotate.
  • Loves to show off all her new teeth with the cheesiest grins like in the pictures above.
  • Hated rice cereal at 4 months and loves it now.
  • Started other solids at about 5 months. I've been making my own baby food and so far she's liked pretty much everything. She has eaten green beans, bananas, sweet potatoes, peas, avocados, apples and pears. We tried some Gerber baby food while were in UT because I couldn't take my own and she didn't like it very much even though I used the natural kind.
  • Has totally found her voice and babbles all the time. She also loves to open her mouth as wide as she can and say "Ah" as loud as she can. It's really funny and definitely turned heads in the airport this week.
  • She has found her feet and loves to put them in her mouth or do funny stretches with them.
  • She loves hair and is always trying to grab mine especially when she nurses. She's usually pretty soft but sometimes she tugs pretty hard.
  • We are still working on making the bedtime and nap transition easier. Some days she goes down very easily and other days she fights us like crazy. We are trying different things to see what works best for her.
  • She usually goes down about 6:30 pm and sleeps until about 2:30 am, nurses and goes back down until about 6:30 or 7:00 am.
  • She is still nursing about every 3 hours but I imagine now that I am increasing solids to 3 times a day that she will probably start going longer stretches.
  • She loves toys that make noise or music and plays independently for about 30 min sometimes especially in the exersaucer.

She's a doll!! So cute, I love the cheesy grin :) We have the exact same exer-saucer and Sam loves it. And I'm so impressed you make your own baby food. I've been toying with the idea but haven't gotten around to it. Good for you! :)
