Almost 1 month!

It's hard to believe that Abby is almost one month old. We've definitely had our ups and downs this last month as we've gotten to know each other and as she has adjusted to life outside the womb. Our biggest struggle has been sleeping at night. Now I'm not talking about sleeping through the night (although that would be nice.) I'm just talking about sleeping at all. She seems to be the most wide awake from 7:00 pm to 3:30 am and all she does is fuss the whole time and want to be fed even if I've just fed her. It's been quite the battle and pretty exhausting as you can imagine. At first I couldn't keep her awake during the day for anything because she was so sleepy. Now at least she will stay awake for a while after she eats and before she takes a nap. Last night I finally got her to sleep by feeding her about 12:30 am and putting her in the swing and I fell asleep on the couch. I woke up to her moving around about 4:00 am so I changed her and fed her and then put her in her bed and climbed in my bed. I was so tired I didn't even hear Bud's alarm go off at 5:30 am. I've got to go back to work in a few weeks and I'm hoping we can figure this out before that time comes or I'm going to be a zombie!

Bud's attempt at keeping Abby awake so she'll go to bed before 2:00 am
They were rockin' out!

Just some more cute faces!

I LOVE this one. So funny!

Hang in there. This is the hardest time when you are all getting not enough sleep. She is just gorgeous and I hope she gets into a better sleeping pattern soon.
Thanks for sharing.

Adjusting to sleeping again is NOT fun! It will be worth it though. The best advice I was ever given was to never let your baby sleep longer than 2 hours during the day. For my oldest I was actually putting cold rags on her face to wake her up! It worked though. All three of my kids slept at least 10 hours straight at night at 6 weeks old... Good luck!! Love the pictures! I think Bud is just pinching her so he can stay up and play games all night! :)

Adorable pics. I love the big smile!! I remember those days like it was yesterday. trying to keep the baby awake. Daniel would have ours do kung fu. Don't ask. Don't imagine. Daddies can be so funny sometimes with their babies.

Hey there! She is so cute, but I can totally relate to the sleep deprivation-NOT fun! But, it will get better in time.
The best advice I got was from the "Happiest Baby on the Block" DVD and CD. I followed the program to the Tee, and the swaddling especially was the key. The white noise is also very important to simulate the womb. I never found keeping Ché up to help, but maybe it will work for you?
Anyway, I'd be happy to send you guys the DVD and CD to borrow (I'm sure we'll need it again the next time around;)
Just let me know if you want to give it a try. I don't know about you, but having a specific plan helps me, even if it isn't perfect, just bc I am so routine oriented.
Good luck! I know you get so much advice it can be overwhelming:)
