Hard are those times in life where you know where you want to go but are required to make baby steps to get there. Some days it makes you discouraged because you feel like you'll never get there and sometimes it makes you frustrated because you want to go faster than you can. But ultimately it is about patience and trust and trying to enjoy each day knowing the Lord is watching over you and knowing that eventually you will get where you want to be or that Heavenly Father will turn you in another direction that is even better than what you could have imagined. A wise man once said "We have the agency (or choice) to be happy amidst trial and tribulation." Sometimes that choice is not an easy one to make but it ultimately makes your load seem lighter. It is so easy to get caught up in the idea "arriving" that we often forget to "Joy in the Journey". Keeping the "goal" in sight is important but if we focus all our energy on that one thing we often miss the little miracles that are going on around us every day. I'm not typing this because I have mastered the art of thinking this way but because it is true and sometimes seeing it and reading it helps you to remember what is truly important in life. I have so many things to be grateful for in my life and I am determined to focus on those things so that I don't get distracted and discouraged. So here's to a new way of thinking!
