What's been going on

So since I've been terrible about posting pictures lately (not that I've taken any) I figured I could at least give an update about what has been going on with us. Things seem to be improving in the economy somewhat so work has picked up for Bud a lot. He has been working two jobs, doing plumbing with Sam and cabinet installation with my cousin's husband Kim. Both jobs have kept him very busy and he has been rotating between the two depending on who has work for the day. He's been spending a lot of time out in Bylas and San Carlos on the reservation installing cabinets in some new homes. He has had to stay over night sometimes, which is not my favorite, but the increased income has been a huge blessing. He still has two callings, he is the assistant ward clerk over membership and is also the 11 year old Blazer scout leader. So needless to say he stays pretty busy.

I am still working at ASU in the registrar's office. There have been some changes in the organization of our department so I no longer work on readmission but continue to work on the recording functions as well as learning new functions related to enrollment and registration. As stated in my previous post I was recently called to be the Relief Society president of our new ward and I have been spending the last two weeks trying to figure out what the heck I'm doing. But I have some awesome counselors and a great secretary along with super great sisters in my ward so I think we'll survive and maybe even learn a bit. ;-) One of the most exciting things that I have been doing is singing in a new choir that has started her in the east valley of AZ called the East Valley Mormon Choral Organization (EVMCO). I could go on and on about how great it is but let me just say it is probably one of the best choirs I've ever been in. I like to think of it as a mini Tabernacle Choir. The musicians are awesome and I can't wait until we get to hear what we sound like with the symphony. Our 1st Annual Christmas concert is Dec 10th and it's going to be SUPER! The organization is run completely by volunteers and I have recently taken over the responsibility of audition coordinator for the Adult and High School choirs which I think will be really fun as I will be able to get to know new people as well as the directors. I was also asked by the directors last week if I would be the section leader for the Altos. I was really excited and honored to be asked. I'm in charge of making sure I get all the musical notes for my section in case the other ladies aren't sure about where we split parts or breathe, etc. It's nice to be using my musical talents again since I haven't been able to do much over this last year.

Ok, this is getting pretty long so I guess I'll sign off. We are happy and healthy and feel very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in our lives. We will be spending Thanksgiving in Utah with my family this year and Christmas in California with Bud's family. We can't wait for the holidays!!

Love,

Bud & Kim
