NOW it's funny

So yesterday was not what you would call a good day. But now that it's over and I can look back on it I can finally laugh a little bit. Sometimes it seems like everything goes wrong all at the same time. In the past two weeks all this happened:

  • Replaced all four tires on my car
  • Got a flat in CA, replaced two tires on Bud's car (thanks to Kevin & Dad P)
  • Happen to notice that my car registration has been expired for a month an a half and never received a renewal notice.
  • Called DMV to find out what happened and they told me that when I changed my name and address eight months ago I forgot to tell them to change ALL of my records so the renewal was sent to my old address under my old last name. That makes sense...NOT!
  • DMV told me I'd have to pay late fee for not registering on time and I that have to get an emissions check done on my car.
  • Check engine light is on...not going to pass emissions.
  • Cried at work
  • Went to lunch with Bud, cried more.
  • Bud took my car to get emissions done but went home to clean the corrosion off the battery first. Cleaned it put it back in, car wouldn't start.
  • In the meantime my RS president called to tell me another ward reserved the church on our scheduled enrichment night in June after we already had to cancel the activity in May.
  • Took the battery to AutoZone, dead as a doornail.
BUT....as life usually does things got better in the evening:

  • New battery made the check engine light go off
  • The other ward said they'd be happy to share the building with us for enrichment in June
  • My bishop's wife showed me how to get a large Papa John's pizza for $1 yesterday for dinner.
  • And to top it all off my sweet husband was patient, calm and supportive through it all. I am a worrier, get a little dramatic when things go wrong and like to freak out (I'm working on that).
Yes, I still have to get the emissions done on my car (the check engine light is back on) and register it but I'm going to try to fight the late fee. We'll see how that goes. Here's to Friday and being able to laugh at what happened earlier in the week. Have a good weekend!

When it rains, it pours doesn't it. But there is always a beautiful rainbow after the rain!! Everything always seem to work out...Heavenly Father is always watching over us! I'm so glad that you could look back and laugh at it though. I'm so proud of you for laughing. It does a body good.:) Hope you had a better weekend! Love, Kristalyne :)

I'm so glad you have your sister and Kris to help you see your glass as half-full. I read your post and thought...Man that it so crappy! Sometimes when it rains, it pours, and all that rain just leads to a bunch of mud that you then have to clean up.
Actually, I thought that I wished I had a ton of money so I could send a bunch to you and make it all better. But Saturday my check engine light came on so you're gonna have to fend for yourself sista!
