Random Facts About Bud
1. I can't sing. However I sing about everything...for some reason I make up random songs when I'm talking to my wife and sometimes to my family. They make no sense but I just make up a tune to whatever I have to say.
2. I'm a die hard Padres fan...they haven't been to the world series since 1998 but being from the San Diego area I've always stayed true. My brothers and Dad and I have gone to games for years even when they played in the Jack Murphy stadium. Go Padres!
3. My real first name is David but I have been called Bud since the day I was born. My parents wanted to name me Bud but decided that it would be better to give me the name David and use Bud as a nickname.
4. I can't stand using my car horn. I can't stand the sound of it. I can't stand the sound of others using their horn and when they do I get mad even when it's not at me. I always say, "Whose honking?". For some reason it just drives me crazy!
4. I hate raw tomatoes but I will eat anything with tomatoes in it as long as it's cooked even if there are big chunks of tomatoes.
5. I've spent over 120 hours on one video game. I know it's pathetic and I'd NEVER do it now but I just wanted my characters to be the best (It was a role playing game- Final Fantasy X).
6. I've been bit by a rattle snake. I stayed home from school one day and so did my friend and we went out in the canyon and found a snake coiled up. I knew it was a rattle snake but I still picked it up. I held it for about 20 minutes and then all of a sudden it unlocked it's jaw and turned around and bit me with one fang.
7. I love reptiles (if you couldn't tell from the last post). When I was about five years old I caught a ring neck snake and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. After that I would always always go down in the canyon and look for reptiles. I would put boards down in the canyon so they would hide under them and I could find them later. I am a boy what can I say?
8. I had a pet lizard named Venom for 12 years. He was a black and white Tegu lizard. I used feed four mice every other Saturday.
9. I love sports. I play softball and basketball every week. People ask me all the time where I went to high school and what sports I played. The thing they don't know is that I never played sports in high school I was under 5' 6'' until the end of my junior year.
10. I don't like watching chick flicks because I am always afraid I'm going to cry before the chick does. (What can I say? I'm a sensitive guy!) But I don't mind watching them with my wife because she's way more sensitive than me.
11. I was a VL (Virgin Lips) until I was 26 years old.
12. When I was 24 I bought a 3000 GT sports car. The fastest I ever went in it was 140 mph. It was an awesome experience until I hit the breaks. The rotors were bad which made the steering wheel shake really bad and it kind of freaked me out. That's the last time I ever when over 100 mph in that car.
13. I am number 4 of 10 kids. Being from a big family is the best!
14. I was a dare devil as a kid. Fearless always willing to sacrifice my body to do something cool or that looked fun. Now that I'm older I am a lot more cautious and hate getting hurt so I won't do somethings because of that.
15. I've never been out of the US other than crossing the boarder into Tijuana, Mexico. But if I could go anywhere in the world I'd go to Australia...mainly to see the reptiles.
16. I love candy! I've always had a sweet tooth and I have a hard time resisting when there is something sweet in front of me. My favorite candy is anything gummy...such as Mike 'n Ikes, Hot Tamales, gummy bears and worms but one of my favorites is the bite size Twizlers that are only available at Halloween. Man those things are GOOD!
17. While serving my mission I spent time in two states. I served in the Denver South, Colorado mission and one of my areas extended into Kansas.
18. One of my most favorite things to do is put puzzles together. As a kid I would spend hours putting puzzles together. I hate putting all the edge pieces together first. I just start finding pieces that go together and build from there. As a kid I used to dump all our puzzles into one bucket and try to put them together with the pieces mixed up.
19. I've lived less than than five minutes from the beach for almost my entire life and yet I've never learned how to surf. I've tried twice but haven't succeeded.
20. I love snorkeling...I could spend hours exploring in the water hoping to find something new and exciting. But I haven't had as many opportunities to do it as I would like.
21. I love having my eyebrows plucked...I know...I know...I'm a guy but I love it when my sister or my wife pluck my eyebrows. For one thing they look better and I also think it feels good and is relaxing. Weird I know.
22. I can't sit still when I'm talking on the phone at home. I have to walk around. I go in the kitchen, open the fridge, walk into the bedroom, the bathroom, the living room, the other bedroom. I just keep moving. Kim always laughs at me and tells me to just sit down. But I can't!
23. I hate losing...I hate losing at anything....even just friendly competitions. Even when I play cards with Kim I can't stand it when she wins. I never get mad or anything but I can't stand it (injures the pride). I guess that's the competitive side of me.
24. When I was a kid I had a screaming pillow. It was actually just the pillow on my bed but whenever I would get mad at anything, even a dumb video game I would grab my pillow, stuff my face in it and just let out a huge scream. I guess it's better than making a hole in the wall...which I did a few times. But thanks to the screaming pillow the walls didn't suffer too much damage.
25. I had a HUGE crush on my first grade teacher. I though she was SO hot. I was always on my best behavior around her because I wanted to be her favorite. I had such a big crush on her even called her at home a few times just to talk to her.

I'm the same way with tomatoes. They have to be cooked or I won't eat them, period!
Plus, I had to let you know that Gavin and my first pet was a ball python...thanks to you. You spent all your time trying to scare us girls with all your reptiles that I became immune and even interested in them.

Bud, you forgot to mention that your GT3000 was called the "chickless chick mobile." It was so fun to read your random things. You are Sooooooo much like your big ugly brother. Danny wants to know who your 1st grade teacher was. We love and miss you!

Man, I loved this! When Shar and I were first married, we went to the mall and got our eyebrows waxed together! I had done it many times before but Shar said it was so painful, he would never do it again. Woman can handle so much more pain! Anyway, he looked super sexy though, it works wonders! Way to go Buddy for plucking, personally I think plucking HURTS so bad....waxing or bust!!!!

I just love your post Bud!!! :) It was so fun to learn all of these facts about you!!!! They just kept me laughing!!! It gave me a little glimpse of everyday life in the family...years ago! You are awwwwwwesome!

Those were fun random things about Bud! But I don't know about the randomness of his love for reptiles! I do remember him sharing a catch one time - not a favorite memory!
This was fun to read since we haven't had the chance to meet Bud yet.
My big brother was/is a reptile fanatic so we always had crazy pets, including two iguanas, El Guapo, and Augustus.:) Right now my brother has a boa constrictor, and I actually love to hold it. It's so smooth and muscly!
